South Suburban Humane Society

The South Suburban Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the well-being of animals in Chicago's south suburbs.  Through their care and sheltering of animals, investigative practices, pet ownership education, adoption services, and spay/neuter policies, The South Suburban Humane Society makes every effort towards ending animal homelessness, reducing pet overpopulation, and ending cruel, inhumane treatment and abuse towards pets.

The Dawn Brancheau Foundation established its first Dawn Brancheau
Shelter Play Yard in the Chicagoland area at South Suburban Humane Society.  The Foundation continues to honor Dawn’s love of animals by providing play yard equipment, supplying “Doggie Adoption Bags” assembled at the Dream Big Walk, and fulfilling the requests of those who care for the shelter dogs.

Happy Trails Animal Rescue

Happy Trails Animal Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue organization servicing the Orange, Osceola, and Seminole county areas in Florida. In addition to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need, they operate a resource center for pet owners offering free dog training, free grooming, a pet food pantry, assistance with veterinary expenses, free educational seminars and a service dog program. Their mission is to build a safer, educated, pet-friendly community for pet owners and animals in Florida.

The Dawn Brancheau Foundation provided funds to construct and furnish the service dog training apartment at the new Happy Trails Animal Rescue facility. Eligible rescue and shelter dogs are trained and then partnered with individuals in need. These service dogs are provided at no cost to the recipients. We also provide funds to support their many community programs.
